Despite being a rugby playing, out doorsy, kite surfing (when he can fit it in around work and his five kids) bloke, Rob is at heart a nerd. Not in the true nerdy (Not Even Remotely Dorky) geeky sense of the word, but in the “how can he use technology to make life easier” way. After ten years of working on e-commerce and large websites during which time he rode the dot com boom and bust, hiring and firing hundreds of people and running tech teams of all sizes, Rob decided to exit the corporate world and make his living from web properties. He has started and sold several web based businesses and during the last few years has used technology to reduce the risk of creating campaigns and web properties based on what is working for other people. He believes passionately that the old mantra of study hard, get a good education and a good job belongs firmly in the last century and that with barriers to entry lowering all the time, the future will be based on the fourth economy of entrepreneurs. Perfect Timing!

I can't thank Rob enough for writing this book that outlines the blueprint for the "proper" way to implement a good native ads arbitrage strategy. I've been studying this strategy for a couple of months and had literally exhausted every resource I could find online. When I came across his book last week I bought it on the spot. I was about one week away from running traffic to my brand new native arbitrage site so the timing was perfect. Man I'm glad I took a couple of days and read this book. There are a few very important golden nuggets that other people don't share with you on the blogs or webinars about this strategy and if you don't know them, you're going to lose at this game! This guide gives you everything you need, especially the biggest thing I was looking for, how scale your winners using leverage. I can't even estimate how much frustration, money and time this guide has saved me!

I would have given this book a 5 star review when I bought it several months ago - but since then I have tried native ads and am finding them very hard to make profitable. Could be my own short comings but I'm just not convinced that the business model is sound. However, the writing and information delivered in the book is first rate - the guy obviously knows what he is talking about and knows how to teach.

Seemingly familiar, apparently over-played, categories are archivally reworked--or else finely spun out--into webs of instructive relationship. A good and timely work, as much for its particulars on (post-)coloniality and writing "race" as for Edwards's legitime defense of diaspora. The conceptual and socio-historical fluency with which this work re-positions Paris and its noirs is especially welcome. Recall of this sort has been somewhat overdue. (Lemuel A. This is a magnificent study. The Practice of Diaspora's contribution to scholarship is made in at least four areas: African-American studies (generally speaking), African-American literary studies, modernism, and literary theory. The combination of its theoretical adeptness, its rigor, and its depth of scholarship is quite remarkable. I don't recall having seen this mixture of theory, textual interpretation, cultural history, intellectual history, and diaspora scholarship before. Edwards's study is quite ambitious but I think he more than delivers on those ambitions. I think its importance does not rest simply in the depth of its scholarship or the mixed mode of its argumentation, but in how much it will encourage others to return to these areas with a rigor that does not depend upon a demonstration of "discursive mastery" in particular areas but upon cross-area attentiveness. ONE STAR edition of 5 star book.

ONE STAR FOR THIS EDITION. I apologize for the following awkwardness. However as many are aware, Amazon sometimes places reviews of a title together no matter what edition was actually reviewed. This review is for the following edition only: Kindle Edition; file size 847 KB; print length 522 pages; publication date December 12, 2012; sold by Amazon Digital Services, Inc.; ASIN B00ANUQEIO. Get a different edition. This one leaves out all illustrations including those needed to support the text. The book itsef is 5 stars for information even though it is not great writing. If you do read the book, which I recommend, you need to be aware that Kunz used terms & gemstone names which are not in common usage today. During my original reading, I was able to consult a Dr. of Geology who was also a gemologist about some of them. Rereading, I made use of various dictionaries & online resources. I am still a little confused about hyacinth. According to some sources it is red zircon. Others state that it is red, orange or yellow zircon. Another says that zircon is not a true hyacinth. My gemologist friend surmised that Kunz could have been referring to a variety of orange to yellow hessonite garnet. I believe that Kunz was referring to a stone of orange, yellow or golden hue, probably zircon. However, I have read that many cut stones in these colors originally thought to be zircon proved to be garnet.

Great book, terrible read

This book has a lot of great information, but the book is hard to read. The optical character recognition was about as poor as I have ever encountered. A run through a Spell Check program would have done wonders to make the book easier to read. The text also referred to or was dependent on the figures that should have been included, but all that was displayed were the figure titles. The same book by the G competitor had the figures, and the book was no charge. Also contributing to the hard read were the footnotes that often ran for several screens making it hard to follow the author's train of thought.

This will be the third pharmacy calculations book I've used. DO NOT GET THIS BOOK!. It is riddled with mistakes. Imagine trying to solve a problem and you get one answer and the book has a different answer. you'll simply assume your wrong. Which is confusing if you are attempting to learn the subject. Almost every chapter has numerous problems with wrong answers. Which is unacceptable for a pharmacy calculations text book.

My only gripe with this book is that words listed in the index are referenced to the numbered 'category' they're grouped into rather than the actual page they can be found on. Otherwise, it's a very good book with a lot of helpful vocabulary relevant to Egyptian Arabic (as compared to other books that claim to give Egyptian Arabic vocabulary but really don't).

Few passengers would fly with a pilot who had only simulator experience. Most want a pilot who has logged many hours of real flight time in the cockpit. Likewise, we want students to move quickly from the skills (the simulator) to actual reading (the cockpit) for extended practice. This method has worked well since the first edition of Structured Reading and is evidenced by its continued use by hundred of teachers and thousands of students in the United States and Canada.

We've consistently had our students in mind as we've talked through our revision decisions for this Sixth Edition of Structured Reading. We've learned from our reviewers and teaching colleagues that many students look for a detailed introduction to the separate college-level reading skills they need ("Central Theme and Main Ideas"; "Major Details"; "Inferences"; "Critical Thinking"; and "Reader Response"). To that end, we offer in this Sixth Edition a comprehensive, new Part One, "Skills for Reading." This fourteen-chapter part explains and demonstrates each reading skill. It also offers extensive skills-based exercises to prepare students for their hands-on experience with the thirty complete reading selections in Parts Two through Six.

Another demonstration of our focus on students in Structured Reading is the topics of the thirty complete reading selections. Some students say that they avoid reading because nothing they're assigned to read interests them. While we know that such feelings derive as much from a lack of confidence in reading abilities as from specific topics, we've always strived to provide engaging topics that appeal to a diverse audience. To this end, we've replaced five reading selections with new ones on more current, absorbing issues.

Here are the major features of Structured Reading, Sixth Edition:

NEW! Part One, "Skills for Reading" explains the reading process. Using an FAQ approach, it gives students down-to-earth advice—with lots of chances for practice—about how to improve reading speed, expand vocabulary, make useful predictions during reading, read "on, between, and beyond" the lines, find central themes and main ideas, identify major and minor details, make inferences, read critically, and respond to ideas.
Thirty reading selections, with five new for this edition, represent our desire to offer an instructive, stimulating balance of readings from books, magazines, newspapers, and textbooks in disciplines across the curriculum. The final mix represents male and female writers, as well as writers from a variety of ethnic groups.
Exercises are deliberately structured to promote analytic and critical reasoning. Indeed, our structured sequences of exercises following every reading selection are the key feature that teachers and students have been praising from the first edition of Structured Reading: "Vocabulary," "Central Theme and Main Ideas," "Major Details," "Inferences," "Critical Thinking" ("Fact vs. Opinion" and "The Writer's Craft"), and "Reader Response." This structured sequence demands concentrated work in reading for literal meaning, for inferential meaning, and for critical thinking. This approach, used repeatedly, leads students to internalize successfully complex reading and thinking skills.
The answer options for our structured exercises may look to some like multiple-choice items, but the similarity stops there. Structured Reading exercises are unique, which can be seen as soon as anyone looks beneath the surface. We've written the incorrect answers (called "distracters") to propel students into close reading and active analysis. They're forced to marshal their higher-order reasoning powers to think through mental challenges. Students' powers of persistence and focus can become habit when teachers require them not only to identify a correct answer (called "the key") but also to analyze and articulate why other choices are incorrect.
Complete, authentic dictionary entries accompany each reading selection to help students tackle the more difficult words in the piece. This unique, popular feature of Structured Reading provides students hands-on experience with dictionary use. We have again been fortunate to offer entries from Webster's New World College Dictionary, Fourth Edition. Our Appendix, "Guide to Dictionary Use," helps students—in plain English—retrieve information from dictionary entries.
The book has six parts. Part One teaches the reading process and its college-level skills. Parts Two through Six contain reading selections with increasingly difficult readability levels (see the Instructor's Edition of Structured Reading), and with short-to-longer selections within each part.
"Thinking: Getting Started" sections, another unique feature of Structured Reading, open Parts Two through Six to help students engage in predictive reading. We use posters, photographs, advertisements, cartoons, and other visuals to prepare students for the topics to come.

I have this book in my reading class of Devoplmental Reading and it a good book. We used this book in class everyday. I have learned words and information in here I never put to use and this book helps you to think.
